General pest control in Tampa treats the inside and outside of a home for the common crawling pests: palmetto bugs, ants, spiders, silverfish and earwigs. A quarterly plan suits most houses here, because with an annual mean temperature near 74.5°F insects never fully shut down for winter. Termites, bed bugs and German roach infestations are separate jobs with their own methods.
What a general pest visit treats, and what it leaves out

A general service covers the insects that wander in from the yard: big outdoor roaches, ants trailing along baseboards, spiders, silverfish, earwigs and millipedes. We treat the foundation, eaves, door and window frames, weep holes and the lanai, then work inside where we see activity, usually plumbing gaps in kitchens and baths, the garage and around the attic hatch.
Some pests need a plan of their own. German roaches breed indoors and call for baits and follow-ups, termites need an inspection and a targeted treatment, and bed bugs need room-by-room work. If yours falls outside a general service, we say so on the first visit.
What every general pest visit covers
These are the parts of the job handled on each visit, inside and out.
- An outside walk-around and a talk about what you have seen
- A perimeter treatment along the foundation, doors and windows
- Webs and wasp starts knocked down from eaves and soffits
- Crack and crevice treatment in kitchens, baths and the garage
- Weep holes, door sweeps and pipe gaps checked for entry points
- Notes on what we found and what to change around the yard

Call (813) 471-5363A one-time treatment for a problem you can see
A single visit fits a home that is mostly pest-free and has one flare-up: ants after a storm, a few palmetto bugs in the garage, webs piling up on the eaves. We inspect first, find where they are coming in, treat that area and the full perimeter, and point out anything you can fix, like a worn sweep under the garage door or mulch piled against the stucco.
A single treatment does not keep working forever. Perimeter products break down in sun and rain, so a one-time job buys time, not a whole year. If the same pests return within a few months, a quarterly plan usually costs less than repeat single visits.

Quarterly service through the Tampa seasons
Most homes we look after get a visit every three months. The first visit is the heaviest: inside and out, eaves swept, and easy entry points sealed. After that the work is mostly outside, renewing the perimeter before the last treatment wears off, with interior treatment whenever you ask for it.
The quarters follow the weather. The spring visit gets ahead of ant season, the summer visits meet the rainy-season push indoors, and the fall and winter visits keep roaches out of the garage and attic. Tell us if pests show up between visits; you do not have to wait for the next quarter to mention it.

Treating an empty house before you move in
An empty house is the easiest one to treat well. Cabinets are bare, no furniture blocks the baseboards, and we can see every corner of the garage and closets. We treat cracks and plumbing gaps in kitchens and baths, dust wall voids where pests hide, treat the perimeter and check the attic hatch.
The visit also shows what the last owner left behind: droppings in a cabinet hinge, an ant trail at a window, old webs in the garage. Book it between closing and the moving truck if you can.
Why Tampa homes see bugs all year
Rain drives most of it. Tampa's yearly normal is 49.48 inches, and roughly two-thirds of that arrives June through September as near-daily afternoon storms. Soaked mulch and flooded lawns push roaches and ants toward the house, and August, the wettest month, keeps that pressure on. Even the drier stretch from November into early May only slows insects, because the city's average temperature across the year is 74.5°F. So our quarterly visits keep going through winter.
General pest control prices in Tampa
- Home size
A larger footprint means more perimeter, eaves and rooms to treat. - Pests already inside
A home with an active indoor problem needs more interior work on the first visit. - Landscaping against the house
Thick mulch beds, shrubs touching the walls and palms near the roof add outdoor time. - Lanai and pool cage
Screened enclosures add frames, corners and a deck edge to the treatment area. - Visit schedule
A plan spreads the cost across the year, while single visits are priced one at a time.
How a general pest visit runs
- 1
Walk the outside
We check the foundation, weep holes, eaves, doors and the lanai for entry points and activity.
- 2
Ask and look inside
You tell us where you have seen pests, and we check kitchens, baths, the garage and the attic hatch.
- 3
Perimeter and eaves
Product goes along the slab and around doors and windows, and webs come down from the soffits.
- 4
Treat inside where needed
Cracks, plumbing gaps and wall voids are treated, with a note on how long pets stay off treated spots.
- 5
Plan the next visit
We note what we found and set the next quarter, or say plainly if one visit will do.
One-time visit or quarterly plan?
| Question | One-time visit | Quarterly plan |
|---|---|---|
| Fits | A single flare-up in a home that is mostly clear | Homes that see roaches, ants or spiders every season |
| How long it lasts | Until rain and sun break down the perimeter | Renewed every three months before it wears off |
| Inside work | Done on the visit | Heavy on the first visit, then as needed |
| Cost over a year | Adds up if pests keep returning | Spread across four visits |
German roaches living in the kitchen need German cockroach treatment rather than either option here.
Mulch, sweeps and sprays: what you can handle
| Task | Doing it yourself | When to call us |
|---|---|---|
| Mulch and leaf litter | Rake mulch and pine straw a few inches away from the stucco | Roaches still show up indoors once the beds are cleared |
| Gaps and sweeps | Replace worn door sweeps and caulk gaps around pipes | The gaps are in the soffit or roofline, out of reach |
| Store-bought sprays | Spray a single trail or a stray spider | Ants scatter or the same pests keep coming back |
| Moisture | Fix dripping hose bibs and clear the gutters | Roaches or silverfish keep turning up near indoor plumbing |
Store sprays kill what they touch, not the nest or the next wave from the yard.
